The Florida Panthers won their second consecutive Stanley Cup in 2025 against the Edmonton Oilers in a rare rematch. The Panthers also advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2023, but lost to this year’s conference champions, the Golden Knights, in Game Five.
A consecutive-year Stanley Cup Final rematch hadn’t occurred since 2008 and 2009. In 2008, the Detroit Red Wings beat the Pittsburgh Penguins, and in 2009, Pittsburgh defeated Detroit.
